September News
Dear Franklin at Alma families, Thank you to all of our families for attending parent teacher conferences this week. The teachers enjoyed meeting with you and sharing information about how your child is learning at school. If you were unable to make your scheduled conference time, please reach out to your child’s teacher so we can schedule a new time. We also appreciate all of the families who purchased books and other items at the book fair. We hope the books your child chose inspires them to be an avid reader this year. Spirit Day: This year, the student council is planning a special spirit day every month. The first one is tomorrow, September 17th. Each classroom voted for their own spirit shirt color. If you have any new or gently used small or medium pants, shirts, or skirts that you would like to donate to the health office, we would appreciate it. Classroom Reminders: Please send your child with a disposable or refillable water bottle every day. It is important that we keep your child hydrated, especially after outdoor activities. The classrooms and cafeteria can be chilly at times. Many students like to keep a jacket or sweater in their backpack or cubbies for those days when it is feeling too cold. Remember to label your child’s belongings with their name. Tutoring: Students who need additional practice with phonograms, reading, or math skills have been invited by their classroom teacher to attend tutoring. If your child is coming to school for tutoring before school, they can enter the campus by using the double gate by the flag pole or they can use the push bar gates by the south parking lot. Only students who are coming for band, orchestra, resource, or tutoring should arrive on campus early. All other students may enter campus at 7:50am.
