About Orientation

Welcome to the 2022-2023 Franklin at Alma online orientation!  There are two parts to complete for orientation: a Family Contribution and selection of two Committees to participate in throughout the year.

We ask that all families make a $25 family contribution to help pay for amazing fieldtrips, classroom and playground equipment, student awards and other needs of the school.

As a parent choice school, committees are a required element of your opportunity to be involved in Franklin at Alma. You may opt out of one (1) committee. If you select to opt out of one (1) committee, a $25 committee opt out fee will be collected in order to cover the costs of either purchasing needed donation items and/or ancillary assistance at events. This opt out is only for one committee, you are still required to sign up for one committee to fulfill your two committee obligation.

Please note that some committees have limited spaces and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. We encourage families with strong preferences or schedule restrictions to sign up early to ensure preferred opportunities are available! You will be contacted later in the year by the committee chair for additional information and any shift scheduling.

Important dates:

  • Online orientation window: July 1 - July 31
  • In-person orientation: Tuesday, August 2 from 4:00-6:00
  • Meet your teacher: Tuesday, August 2 from 4:00-6:00
  • First day of school: August 8

The next step is to select committee. You will pay the family contribution and opt out fee should you choose to opt out of 1 committee.
